sound card problem !

For some reason my sound card used to work but now I don`t. I have got the latest drivers aswell. Whenever I go to the volume setting in sound and audio devices from control panel, it says an error which is " Windows cannot execute SndVol32.exe, use Add/Remove program control panel to install ".

Why does this come ? I don`t think I have done anything wrong ?
Please can u help ?

Try reinstalling the drivers... Is that a soundblaster you're having problems with? Make sure you have the newest drivers.

okay i will download the drivers again ( I already had them ), and no it ain`t a soundblaster mine is Hercules Gamesurround Muse XL !

The sound sndvol32.exe is the windows volume control. Don't ask me why you can install/uninstall it, but that's what you can do.

So add remove programs

Add remove windows components

double click Accesories and utilities

double click multimedia

tick volume control

Apply
