When my dad was installing XP on his comp, after he liked how it ran on mine...he got a message saying my WAN miniport and scanner wouldn't work with XP, and he would have to uninstall. He told me he couldn't get a connection to IE or Juno or anything. I checked and the Network card was getting packets sent and recieved, and we had an IP and stuff. Im guessing my network card is old, and I need a new one right?

it could be a lot of things. Are you on a Lan, what are you trying to use to connect to the internet and how did he used to connect.

Im on a Netgear router. I am trying to just use internet explorer. My cable modem shows activity, and the other computer on the router can connect to the internet. When i go the properties of the network, there is packets being sent on the connection.

just enable DHCP on the router and then make all computers on the netwrok "automatically obtain an ip address" and make sure you are using the correct NIC drivers. Then cofigure IE to work use a LAN connection.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
