Snapping and Crackling in mp3/movies/sounds etc

I just recently installed WindowsXP ,and after having spent quite some time ironing out numerous bugs and annoyances, but i cant fix this ;

When i play mp3's , watch movies or something i get snapping and crackling sounds , like some kind of interference ..

My headphones are in pristine condition and worked fine before, there is nothing touching the sound card inside the box, and everything worked fine before XP.

I found some advice about this on www.tweakxp.com , whereas i was told to change the irq address of my Soundcard, wich its sharing with my Nic ... but i cant change it , it just doesnt allow me to., I think its rather likely this is a Hardware conflict but winxp doesnt allow me to change the irq of the sound card or nic card.

My Specs:

Amd1800xp
MSI KT-ARU 333
512mb DDR 333mhz
MSI Geforce4 Ti4400 128mb
Soundblaster Live! X-Gamer
30gb IBM 7200 ATA100
120gb WD 7200 Ata100

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
