So, i have a werid thing happening to me, i have a Smart and friendly CD copyer, which with windows 98 and NT worked pretty good. (it is also SCSI).

My problem now, is when i connect the drive, winxp wont boot up, unless, i insert a cd into the drive, and then it will boot up, but freeze up when i take the cd out.

I believe it must be the os not being able to give the drive and ID of some king, and is probably giving it to the CD that i insert previously to boot up, and then not knowing what to do, once i take itout.

Smartandfriendly.com seems to also have banish, as i cant find their website anywhere.

So, any help anyone here can provide me with, will be really apreciated, and a huge THANK YOU, for any responses.

Julian.

I hate to say it, but you might be burned as far as getting that thing to work in XP. You might think about a dual-boot setup on your machine so you can run your burner from 98 or NT. Then just disable the device in XP so it's not causing any driver issues for you.

Well, just so it happens, my cd-r drive had a good reasong to not work on xp...it died...

While i though it was when i made the chance from 98, to xp, it was far from the true. Some time in between it seems it went bad and doesnt seem to want to come back 🙁 hehe

Well, i had to go buy a new burner which realy bites, but well, im back in busines.

Thanks for the response to the post Lonman, much apreciated, even if it was bad news.
