Slow shutdown

Hi,

Im pretty certain i know that Norton Internet Security (anti virus aswell) is causing this problem as it happened after i installed it. When i click shutdown it goes to the windows is shutting down screen and stays there for about 20 seconds before my computer turns off.

Anyone know if there is anything i can do to sort this out as it gets a bit annoying to sit there waiting for it to restart.

Thanks

Do you have a "clear pagefile on shutdown" tweak on? This is usually the root of the slow shutdown. Turn it off if you feel you don't need it and you should see an increase in shutdown speed.

Also if you have a nvidia card. disable the nvidia driver helper service from the service panel in administrative tools.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
