Slow Shutdown?

I recently over-installed XP Pro, and now it seems to take longer to shutdown Any tips? Does Bootvis improve shutdown times or just "Boots"?

open regedit

go to
Hkey_Local_Machine/system/controlset001/control

then change waittokillservicetimeout to a lower number like 3000 or 4000

also try going to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

and changing HungAppTimeout & WaitToKillAppTimeout to about 200 or 300

I did the registry tweaks, but do you have the original registry settings?

Nvidia Driver Helper

If you have an Nvidia video card and are running nvidia reference drivers go to Services - disable the service nvidia driver helper.
