Slow Scanning of Files?

What do you think the reason is for my computer to take soooooooo long to scan files and folders using ad-aware? It used to take a second, but now it goes painfully slow! (i thought it might have had to do with my virtual memory settings, but i was wrong

Check if your hdd is fragmented and defragment it if necessary. That's probably the reason for your problem. Also check if you have at least 5% of space available on your drive.

No, I mean Ad-aware is searching indivual files on my c: drive looking for recognized adware
