slow program load times

recently i formatted my hd, and clean installed a legal copy of XP, and all my programs. illustrator 9, and dreamweaver 4 take upwards of 1-2 minutes to load. that is 1-2 minutes before i even see the loading screen. before i went to XP i had windows 98, and had the same programs on them. and everything was fine. the programs took only 10-15 seconds to load.

what could be causing this? and how can i fix it?

yea

go get all the windows xp updates from windows update. they have compatibilty updates for xp out and in one it specifically,
mentions dream weaver, among others. this should help it.😉
