sorry if i post in wrong section. My problem is that when my computer starts nothing unusal but when i get to the screen about me choosing which account i want for windows xp and i type in my pass it says lading personal settings then takes like 1 to 2 minutes to load my desktop and icons. I tried it on my sisters account which is on same comp of course and same problem

defrag/ clean your computer (reg cleaner) / scan for spyware and viruses.

um and im sure there is more.

if you computer is not connected to a network disable the workstation and server services.

Quicker Xp Start Times.

After you've done the check for viruses and spyware, i suggest running BootVis. My boot time after POST is about 30 seconds to desktop.
