I use a 56k modem a Multitech exterior modem. When trying to connect to the Internet it seems to take ages but once connected it works OK. Is there anyway I can speed up the actual connection. Thanks in advance for any tips.
Might it be something with the dial up connection itself? Are you using ISP software to connect? Do you get any status messages where you can see which phase of the connection process it seems to be hanging at?
On reading various web sites on the subject it appears that my connection delay is not unusual for a dial up modem. I did have a modem which had a quick connection option which seemed to work but the actual modem was rubbish.
I just thought there may be something available to speed it up as it can take up to a minute to connect however I must be truthful and state that this doesn't happen every time.
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
