Slackware Linux 10.1 released :)

Highlights of the 10.1 release include the Linux 2.4.29 kernel (with Linux 2.6.10 as an alternate choice in /testing), X11R6.8.1 from X.Org, Mozilla 1.7.5, KDE 3.3.2, and Xfce 4.2.0. For a complete list of changes since Slackware 10.0, check out the Slackware 10.1 changelog.

I haven't been using official packages so for now, I'll lay off.

Good to see a new slack release. It's also good that Pat seems in better health as he didn't mention his illness to much in this release. :)

I wonder why Slack still hasn't moved to a 2.6.x series kernel as the default. I can't think of any other distro that still ships with a 2.4 kernel.

^ Pat has explained exactly why in the RELEASE_NOTES. With 2.6.10 in /testing, people who want it still have it. Pat also explains this will probably be the last release where 2.4.x ise default.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
