Hi Guys,

I have made some upgrades to my tower, so to start, I returned my bios to default settings (Award). One thing that has become annoying, and I cant seem to find the right disable in the Bios, is the memory test. I previously had it disabled, but I would like to disable it again. What setting am I looking for? Thanks in Advance.

in my bios it basically says startup memory test... or something like that..

dbl check your bios.. it should be there..

most often times you can skip the check by pressing spacebar or some other keyboard button...

Have not heard of an auto memory test disable in Win 98 / XP etc on bootup.
Manualy -------- press "escape"button .
Anyone else know ?

Go to the Quick Power On Self Test (found under Advanced BIOS Setup on my Mobo) and Enable.

Thanks Guys,

Quick Power on self test, that is what it was.

the o/s is not doing a check.. this is a pre o/s load check done by the mobo... settings are either in the bios or on older boards perhaps with jumpers... though this would be odd

esc might well work on some mobo's... space/del/enter work on others...

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
