hey guys , how ya all doing? I would appreciate a little help here...on my daughter'S comp, I NOTICED it freezes 5,10 minutes into playing sims city 4. I am really puzzled.

specs:OS XP PRO,AMD CHIP,512MB DDR RAM,MAXTOR HDD NVIDIA G FORCE 3 VDCARD.

Simple stuff:

- Make sure you have the latest patch for Simcity 4
- Make sure you have Windows Updated
- Make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card
- Defrag, and scandisk

If that doesn't help, than come back.:)

maybe....

hmmm, well after doing all the updates (dont forget motherboard drivers, latest VIA drivers will help if it is a VIA chipset)and the probs do persist maybe it can be one of these things:

1. CPU is overheating, check your temperatures (if you cant find software, check in BIOS), simcity requires alot of CPU work plus its an AMD chip

2. Could be a memory problem, check your memory timings in BIOS, try setting the speeds slower, ....

3. Power Supply maybe failing/or is not enough for your CPU at full load, ...., its a possibility

hope this helps, ....

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
