This is so simplistict in its application. Many people here have troubles with their systems & the only fix is to format. Time consuming & a pain in the butt. The method below is oh so simple but requires major changes (maybe) to your system. But when your system is setup restoring takes minutes not hours. OK this is it. A batch file....thus>

del /A:SH C:\pagefile.sys
xcopy C:\*.* E:\CDriveFresh\*.* /D /E /K /H /R /Y /V
/EXCLUDE:Exclude.txt
pause

Plus the exclude txt file>

RECYCLE
RECYCLER
System Volume Information

The above backs the system up & this one>

xcopy E:\_CDriveFreshXCopy\*.* C:\*.* /E /K /H /R /Y /V
pause

Restores your system to a clean state. (when you made the backup)

That's it. How simple is that? I have not tried it out yet but don't forsee any problem with it.

Full instructions are over here.

so really.. it's just the same as norton ghost.. except it doesn't compress it ;)
but still very clever all the same, if you have the hd space that is

The destination folder can be compressed. How much? When I try it I'll know. :D

Ran the batch today & the file size of 1.57gig reduced to 1.03gig. It took seven minutes to backup. Now when I make a boo boo all I do is run the restore & I'm back in business. No more reloading windows & programs ever again. :D

Used this today to do a restore. It took six minutes & my operating system was restored to a clean state. Beautiful! :D
No more worrying for me whether an app is dangerous or not......I just go for it now.

Glad someone other than me is benefiting from this. :) This is so simple & easy to do it should be common knowledge but I only heard of it a couple of weeks ago. It is suppose to work with all window versions.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
