Why can't i boot off my floppy? I'm trying to flash my AMI BIOS and i followed the directions (make MS DOS boot disk, add new BIOS, and BIOS Utility) Go to restart the system and it boots up normally. I'm curious if this is a XP thing cause i remember Win 95 if a floppy was left in you needed to eject before boot up. Honestly i think this is the first time i've used the floppy since installing XP. Any help would be great. I doubt i can flash from the command prompt in windows... right?

thanks

Go into the BIOS setup and change the boot order, so that your floppy is the first boot device.

Ok. This may seem stupid but did you check your BIOS to see if the boot order was the floppy first? If not I would set it that way. If that doesn't work make sure the drive is plugged in.

yup changed the order in BIOS and all is good... thanks

Glad to hear that your problem is solved

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
