i noticed that by using the shutdown.exe command (with the appropriate suffix) in the command prompt, one is able to shut down a computer which is on your network, right?
if yes, then how do i go about doing this? i tried to shutdown remotely another computer i have and it gave me an "Access Denied" message. what do i need to activate in order to ble able to do it?

thx,
Apu

You need administrative permissions for the computer that you want to shutdown. RPC needs to be accessable also, so dont block it with a firewall on the system.

Try using the GUI version of this application.

I shall PM you a link to download it.

Sure, have to make sure its still there....

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
