Windows XP SP2 to incorporate Longhorn Security

According to sources close to Microsoft, the company is currently working on back porting several security technologies it had planned for it's next OS (currently code-named Longhorn) to Windows XP. This seems to be the main reason for the delay to Windows XP SP2.

The new security features include an updated version of the Internet Connection Firewall (ICF), which will have outbound scanning added. Other features are currently only found in Microsoft's enterprise server product Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000.

well. enyo is probably going to laugh at me for saying this, but I think they will also incorporate a sandbox of some sort.

you will be able to set the box to a high security mode, which will force conformation for anything new done to it

hehe dealer. I doubt it, its still going to be a simple firewall nothing fancy.

Was in the news here.
