my friend is asking me how to share his hp 6100 printer which is hardwired to his linksys router, which is also 802.11

his os is 2000 pro, hardwired to the ruoter.

his wifes laptop needs to use the printer, and this is xp home, and using the 802.11 signal.

could you please post for him step by step instructions how to share this printer with his wilfe

thanx

START
RUN
type in "\\COMPUTERNAME" where computername is the computer that manages the printer.
Select the printer from the browser that pops up by double clicking it.

That should do the trick. That, of course, is the easiest way to do it.

You could also set it up to do IP printing, but that's a little more detailed.

thanx, he'll try this tonight, and post later a thanx for your help if he gets it done

thanx again Un4gIvEn1

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
