sharing cd drives

im trying to share my two cd drives over two machines, all the shares seem to be set right, the other two hard drives c and d work fine but not the cds. what am i doing wrong, works fine in windows 2000 and windows 98

Sharing CD:s should be the same as sharing harddisks. I did nothing special anyway.

When you share CD Drives across Windows 2000 and Windows 98, you have to authenticate Windows 98 to Windows 2000 before it will allow the sharing. To do this, create a mapped drive in Windows 98 that points to the Windows 2000 CD share and tell it to reconnect at login.
