My new laptop does not have a standard 9 pin serial port. It has PS2, VGA, parallel, USB, 1394 and a PCMCIA ports.

How can I connect my phone serial cable to my computer?

many thanks

David Chapple.

You can't. Unless there is any PCMCIA-to-Serial or USB-to-serial adapters out there. Doesn't the laptop have a built-in modem?

Yes my laptop has a built in modem. How can this help?

I use NTL broadband for internet access.

doesn't the broadband modem have an ethernet or usb connection on it?

Aha. But the broadband modem has a serial connection?? Serial tops out at 115kbps normally. That's less than any broadband!

It should have Ethernet or USB like taurus said.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
