SDRAM uipgrade

My PC at the moment is running on a 512 Mb (256 X 2) ram but thinking of upgrading it to 1024 Mb (512 X 2).Do you think it will work ? Sorry the ram sticks I'm talking about are SDRAMs... don't have a DDR slot.

Depends on what motherboard you have. Older mobos do not support 512 MB SDRAM modules.

You could check your motherboard's manual or give us some more info.

Its an IBM with Intel 801e chipset..sorry got no manual

Well I checked on Intels site for that chipset and they don't list it, if thats supposed to 810e then according to Intel you have the max amount of ram that the board can handle installed.
