Looks like you have your cd's on your mass storage controller instead of your nvidia ide controllers. Move your cd IDE cables to the primary and secondary channels and your hardrives to the mass storage ide connectors.
Sorry I forgot to mention that I just reinstalled WinXP. I never touched the ide cables. Everything was alright before the Windows reinstall. Could it be Nvidia Drivers, or could it be a corrupt Windows install?
Two reasons for Drive recognition errors are as mentioned ....moving the hardware such as CDrom drive to an IDE drive position such as 3 or 4 etc where the driver involved cannot identify or initialise the hardware in question.
I have had a cdrom drive identified as SCSI on channel 3 .
But also other existing drivers for other hardware can cause problems.
You should look @nvidia drivers as a possible corruptible source unless you have introduced any similar driver since your installation.
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
