Having had SATA recognition problems involving a non RAID installation set up for some time(it is currently disconnected)
I have come across the following :
Have a look at support.microsoft.com/?id=3141859.
This explains the 2 main errors of

1) "Set up could not find any hard disk drives installed on your systems"
2)Error ....Stop ox0000007B Inaccessible _boot_device.

Error 2 being my problem.
Have not tried it yet but symptoms fit.
Im sure others must have had the same problem.
Hope it helps

Sorry if this is an insulting question, but you did install the drivers for your SATA controller, right?

If you did, then you also sometimes need to set your BIOS for "SATA boot", otherwise it'll only look on the IDE channel.

Yes..... having loaded hard drives for many years, all procedures were followed involving F6/Bootorder/boot sequence./loading correct drivers on install etc.
As you can see from the web page........even that does not always work

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
