running ram in Dual DDr question

sorry for all the questions lately but i wanted to know which would be faster to run...
1 512mb pc3200 ram

or

2 256mb pc3200 ram in dual channel ddr mode.

- if you have an nforce2 or i875p chipset, then the 2x256mb configuration would be better.
- if you don't have either of those chipsets, then get whichever set is cheaper.
