RSS Reader with Active Desktop

Soprano & Webmaster
A question for the masses. I'd like to incorporate an RSS reader into my desktop. I've used readers before (Read: Sage extension for FireFox), but is it possible integrate it into my active desktop?

Ideally I'd like to be able to view which feeds are most recently updated from a list of multiple feeds. Is this idea possible without using an extra program? I'm all about having it integrated into the style and code of my existing active desktop .html file.

Help, or referrals to possible helping sources are all appreciated!

Ep, glad to see you come back and tidy up...did want to ask a one day favor, I want to enhance my resume , was hoping you could make me administrator for a day, if so, take me right off since I won't be here to do anything, and don't know the slightest about the board, but it would be nice putting "served administrator osnn", if can do, THANKS

Been running around Quora lately, luv it there https://tinyurl.com/ycpxl
