Rip???!

How do people that remix songs rip only the vocals or only the beat from an mp3? i tried using the kaoroake in nero and a plugin for winamp but they dont work good i want to say rip the accapela or the beat to another mp3 so i can remix it! HELPPPP!!!!!🙂
