As we all know we can right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose "new", which will follow with a list of new files you can quickly create on the desktop.

How do you edit and/or remove entried from this list?

I understand it's an option in TweakUI, but I'm wondering if there is some registry key I can mess with before I install any software

Thanks

Remove items:

example >
open regedit and find
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.txt
right click the ShellNew subkey and delete it, or rename it to ShellNewOld
reboot

Add items:

example >
open regedit and find
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpeg
right click .jpeg, create a new key, name it ShellNew
in the right panel, right click an empty space, new > string value, name it NullFile
reboot

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
