After rebuilding this same laptop 4 times. I eventually get same error: Symantec Email Proxy cannot scan because your network is not properly configured... Didn't change any settings...If I disable Norton same result.

My internet conn it fine. (Cable thru router) other pc's work fine
BTW, Not configured for email proxy.

Dynamic settings:

ipconfig/renew: An error occurred while renewing interface network connection was attempted on something what was not a socket.

Static ip: Can ping other pc's by name and ip.
Can reach other pc's by \\servername\share

NO Internet.. IE gives: The page cannot be displayed

using modem/network?

linking through router/server or direct connection to internet?

what settings are used on your laptop for the modem/network?

If you have installed Symantec's product you might want to redo all you network settings along with check your inbound and outbound email server names. Symantec likes to change those. Why, I dont know. I just have fixed so many of them.

My net config is dynamic and Symantec not config for email.

If you decide to run static IP you must remember:
- Default Gateway, the IP of your router.
- Primary DNS, normally also the IP of your router.
Otherwise Internet will not work.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
