As the title says above i just bought the zboard and the battlefield 2 keyset.

Here are the newegg links for them while i bought them from frys and had a rebate for the keyset. After rebates everything will have cost me 40 bucks At Frys.

The way it is set up is you have to buy the zboard which i got for 39.99 at Frys electronics on sale. then if you want the special keysets you have to buy them separately they are around 20 bucks. While i had a rebate from the manufacturer for 20 bucks. Here are the other keysets you could have gotten for variouse games. different game keysets
Ok first impressions:
When you first open the box you see the default zboard layout.
This in itself looks like it would be helpful in first person shooters. As you dig into the box more you find the default standard keyboard keyset snap in. For those of you who would be using this as a primary keyboard as well.
Ok opening the Battlefield 2 keyset. All that this is is a snap in keyset specially made for battlefield 2. (See Below for a more detailed view)
All the parts have a very solid feel especially in the fact that they are snap-in. Once you start using it you cant even tell that it is a snap in. The hard lock on the right doesn’t allow movement of the keyset in the slightest.
The keyboard comes with its own software that is actually kind of neat. It installed very easy although what came with it only supports Xp apparently. Not a problem for me but you 2000 users might need to find a patch. As soon as it installed it updates the keysets on the net. Something it didn’t need to do for me since it came with the drivers for the battlefield 2 with it but if i decided to spend 20 bucks for a future games keyset maybe that could come in handy. One of the coolest things about this is that you can just switch out the keysets live and it auto detects. This is what would make buying additional keysets for really good games neat.

Ok on to what the game play is like with the keyboard. Other than getting used to it (8 years of playing first person shooters on a reg keyboard kinda makes distances to your fingers locked in) hehe. My biggest gripe would be that the sprint button seems a little too small and I miss it every so often but I think with some use and getting my fingers used to that problem will go away. The keyboard seems to do what it suspost to do make a easier layout for gaming. I think I will like it I just need more use with it. I defiantly would not of paid 60 bucks for all of this stuff and only got it because of the rebate. But overall im happy with it for now. I do have a 30 day grace period with Frys so if I cant get used to that damn sprint button I will take it back. But I don’t think its gona be a problem. If you love battlefield 2 as you should hehe then this makes the game a little more enjoyable.
3.5 out of 5 stars for this keyboard.
