Just wondering...to see if there are any major differences, or if the price is pretty much the same all over...

How much does a pc games cost where you live?

As example:

Here it is around €52 for "Sim City 4"

€48 for "Age Of Mythology"

Sim City 4 39.6828 EUR

that equals in canada 64.99 CAD

not where i live
in the land of piracy where every game is free lol
like simcity 4

 ....

better to have your own ... don't believe in theft....

i have so many games its great

you only get half a game when u pirate WC3 (ie. Halflife Return to castle wolfenstien, Red alert 2, and others) for example sure u can play single player but you need a legit cd key to play online, and how many times do you think u can play single player with out getting bored? errmm once? twice maybe?? All your doing is hurting the economy which just really pisses me off because most game companys are based in the US. why would u want to hurt other ppl? YOUR A HORRIBLE PERSON!!!

ok maybe not horrible but not nice

thats why they release keygens for most games :) not to many games you cant play online ...also hakced servers are available

Totally agree!!!!:)
It is proven that there are many small and medium sized companies that had really clever people and created a number of games and other software that has crashed due to illegal copying.

The sooner they find a way to stop it, the better...

That is why it is better to get togheter a few friends, play LAN, have fun, talk, eat and drink..and all legal..we bring our own retail games...so much fun in a weekend

me thinks you know not of what you speak

i've never seen anything crash because it was a copy ..maybe if it was ripped but full ISO's never have any problems ...other than the game might stink!!

if you like a game by all means go out and buy it and support the developers

the only way to reduce piracy is to reduce prices ro $ 20-30 at max...I still regert buying Ghost Recon I never installed it  because I know it sucks :D

i dont believe that lower prices will have much effect ...ppl will still steal it if they can ..tho one audio group i know of wont bother with any program under 50 dollars .

for most ppl really into piracy the cost isnt really the issue ..the ppl i know are more like stamp collecters ...its a hobby more than anything ...getting that new release before your friends is the fun thing tho in most likelyhood you will never even use it

i have 2 little nephews that dont even ask for help anymore they know exactly what to do with the latest game to make it work ...one is 7 years old the other 8

well thats horrible this is why I'm not having kids the whole world is going to hell :( and if u want to get software b4 anyone else try to get involved with a big software corp like MS I see stuff up to a year b4 everyone else even hears about it. plus they let u test hardware everyonce and awhile also.

no because the good games i will buy
like counterstike
and ghost reacon sucked multiplayer is no fun
most games dont match up to CS multiplayer so im not geting half the game... the multiplayer part i dont want

Only under 1996 the european software developers lost around €2.1 billion because of piracy. If Europe were on the same piracy level as the USA, that is 27 %, that would mean additional 201 000 worker laid off and around € 20 billion less earnings for the companies... to compare it with the car industry...that would mean that 40 % of all cars in the streets of Europe would be stolen.

Source: "Price Waterhouse" - "The Contribution of the Packaged Software Industry to the European Economies" and "BSA - Business Software Alliance"

If I found out that I got laid off because some teenybopper had his own little business copying what I work for, as a living, I would be very very pi**ed off

I do not think anyone wants to lose their job.....

wasnt this thread about prices and not yet another warez debate?

Well, the prices seems to be very much similar ..I guess only taxes in each country is what makes the biggest difference...

We have 25 % tax on items like that here......

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
