How can I make the partition that Vista is installed on larger? :crosseyed:

Have you tried the disk management that is built into Vista?

1. Click on the Start Button and right click on Computer and select Manage.

2. Expand the Storage section and select Disk Management.

3. Right click on any partition and select either Expand or Shrink to change the size of the partition.

built in disk management will only shrink the partition that vista was installed onto. I don't believe it will allow you to expand main partition.

There is an "Extend" option, but I have not used it.

yes.. there is an option.. but I believe it will only work on partitions that don't contain the vista installation.. ie: you have a second partition and you still have extra space left and you want to extend the second partition to use the remaining free space..

I might be wrong, but I think that was a limitation of extending partitions.. in that you can't extend the system partition.

Yes i agree LordOfLA,
Use Acronis Disk Director's, but use the Boot Disc and boot from the disc. no problemo

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
