Removing Windows Media Player

I have posted a beta recently, beta 10.

I have seen all over the web problems related to ''I cannot get windows media player working, I get internal error(s)''; ''I installed this dam new beta and it's blah blah my system''; ''Hi I am a net lamer and I decided to install some beta codecs, which clearly stated in e.u.l.a. they are for testing purposes, but I was such a lamer I installed them anyway, even though I was told it would screw up my other media applications that rely on win xp media player'', etc.

Well for anyone that did install the beta, or is having problems with player 9, did the M$ knowledge trip, could'nt find an answer, got told to reinstall and it kept giving the nasty errors, hopefully this might help you.

Goto Start -> Run & Enter the following:

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\windows\inf\wmp.inf,Uninstall

This rolls Media Player back to its original install state. Media Player 9 may then be downloaded from:

havent tried it but it sounds promising!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
