Removing the Build Version number from Desktop

All of a sudden, I have a Build Version image on the bottom right corner of my desktop.

I've tried editting the PaintDesktopVersion thing in the registry, but to my surprise it was already at 0. So I changed it to 1, rebooted, no change, changed it back 0, still no change.

I'd rather not use any Tweak apps like PowerToys or TweakUI to fix it, so any help?

You mean the one about 'for testing purposes only'? Do a forum search. There is a small program that will remove it.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?

Impressed you have kept this alive this long EP! So many sites have come and gone. :(

Just did some crude math and I apparently joined almost 18yrs ago, how is that possible???
