it's there to stay forever

Microsoft in all it wisdom has deemed that building operating systems around insecure internet utilities is a good thing. removing OE or god forbid IE would probably kill the OS.

Not sure if it matters, but I use Outlook Express. However, when I did a full install of OfficeXP (including Outlook) it broke my OE. So if you are using Outlook from an Office XP, then chances are you might have a non working OE as a bonus. :)

As it was, I removed Outlook and OE worked again.

Just an FYI.

I tell you Octopus that's a severe PITA! I replied to a 'contact us' link at asite and it booted up OE when I've been using O for ages.

Result - it reset OE as the default mail prgramme! OK so it was easy to sort but what a pain!

M$ sucks!!!

Nope, it can't be removed.
I'm using Mozilla Mail as my default mail client, and OE just sits there taking up disk space ... but it doesn't bother me.

it's less than 4 MB, besides Outlook has no news viewer so I use Outlook for mail and OE for newsgroups

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
