Removing Icon from systray

I want to remove the Local Area Connection icon from my systray as It isnt required on my standalone system. It isnt in my start-up folder and I see no easy way of removing it from the tray.

1. open task manager, find the name of the file running kill it and then check in System Information , startup and see if its listed, again delete it.

2. if you just wanna hide the icon, not kill the program, right click on start choose properties , taskbar, and manually change the hidden status of the file, you can change it to always hide/always show/hide when idle.

Try 1 or 2 or both!

yeah, I think I will have to stick with your second suggestion. I cant find the filename in start-up or the task manager.

Thanks

Double click on the icon within the systray. Click properties then UN-Check where it says "show icon in taskbar when connected"

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
