removing entries

i remember seeing an earlier thread on how to delete old entries from the 'Add/Remove Programs' program in control panel. like i deleted kazaa manually. with the delete key, but i want the entry in the 'add/remove' thing in control panel gone. how do i accomplish this?

First, it's always better to removed software by the Add/Remove programs tab, it generally removes (almost) all registry entries.

You can reinstall Kazaa, then uninstall it. But, if you prefer not doing this, the uninstal key is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and remove the Kazaa key.

Secondly, (rather you choose clean uninstall or not), you should delete every Kazaa key in your registry. There will probably be one in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE and/or in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software

Also get Ad-Aware to get rid of spywares. You can find it on download.com
