Remove Programs from taskbar

Is there anyway to not have programs showing in the taskbar on the desktop?

Here is an example:

Probably software will do it. There are a couple on thispage. Freeware. Try searching for others if needed.

no its someone my friend was talking to. i am asking this question for him.

LQQKS like the quick launch bar. Right click it , goto tool bars move down to quick launch and click it so no tick is there.

Its just the normal task bar (with osx theme ) Leevoy

I can't seem to find away to have no programs on the taskbar (except minimise them all to tray)
