I searched the forums proir to making this thread.

I can connect no problem to the remote desktop, what I am trying to do it have the remote computer automatically unlock when I close the connection. My mom doesn't like having to enter the password and gets angry. :S

I dont really want to install any third-party software to do this, if its not possible I guess I'll have to convince them to use the password.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, its XP Pro (obviously) with SP1 and I wont be installing SP2.

There is no way to automatically unlock the desktop when you are done. Sorry.

Completely non-related, and if this gets too long, I'll just post a new thread on it, but:

Anyone here wanna post a very basic tutorial on how to set up a remote desktop?

1) Does one of the machines HAVE to have XP Pro?

2) Does the VPN have to be set up on BOTH computers?

3) If thats not the problem, I think it has to do with my router

1) If its the computer you want to connect TO then Yes! otherwise No!
2) VPN is not needed, if a firewall/router is being used then port 3389 must be forwarded to the correct computer.
3) If you not fowarding port 3389 then possibly.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
