reinstalling MMC

I am unable to get MMC to open correctly, is there a way to reinstall it?

Event Viewer, etc none of it opens

ok I reregistered the dll and now it says the snap in failed to initialize

Did you run a registry cleaner recently? There may be backup files.

System Restore?

Does Event Viewer open if you type eventvwr.msc in the run dialogue?

I reinstalled XP and I got this when I was testing the install. Let me try running eventvwr.msc...

FIxed it but the funny thing is it seems to have been a hardware issue. When I was running the initial install I kept getting errors while the installation was trying to copy over files. I would hit retry and it would keep going as normal, so I thought. So I was thinking maybe since my CD/RW is freakin old that it was having problems reading the CD. SO I swapped the CD drive and ran the setup but just fixing the installation and not a complete install. Finished that, went to Admin Tools and EV worked fine.....thanks for the help.
