Hello all

I would like to know how to remove items from the startup list in MSconfig. I know I can unselect items, but with the items staying on the list It defaults me to selective startup. I would like to not only unselect those items but remove them from the list completely.

If you are talking about programs, you can remove them from Startup or the registry, depending on where they are loading from. The two Registry locations are:

HKCU_Software_Microsoft_Windows_Current Version_Run

and

HKLM_Software_Microsoft_Windows_Current Version_Run

As for services, you don't want to disable them from msconfig. Services should be managed from Control Panel - Administrative Tasks - Services.

Yes I meant Programs. And I do use Control Panel - Administrative Tasks - Services, for removing services

And Thanks I will try when I get home from work 2hrs from now

you can also use X-Setup to do this. or maybe TweakUI

easiest way into services;

windows key+r, enter this with the qoutes

"services.msc"

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
