I want to reformat my hard drive. Plain and simple. I've tried creating a startup disk and then booting into DOS but the boot disk doesn't have any format utility on it. So how do I format?
Boot from the XP CD... as it goes through setup it will ask you which partition you want to install it on, if you delete the partition and create a new one it will ask you how you want to format it, NTFS or FAT32..
Yeah, sorry to waste your time. I tried that right after I posted the message and it worked great. Now I have a clean install, since my version is an upgrade, but I did not need to install Windows 98 first!
