Maximum Suction

Can anybody help with this one. I have a hardware DVD card that functioned fine in Win'98. it seem's win'XP. has loaded some generic drivers for it, device manager say's all is well, however, I do not have the software DVD player to accompany the card. ( not XP. compatible).

Does any body know of a way round this, I have tried 'Power DVD' but this is'nt anywhere near as good as the 'hard-card+player'.

Would anything else work?

The card is a 'Cinemaster 3.0'

Been on the companies site...no support for a player in XP.

Any help appreciated.

(seems a shame to throw the card away)

Well it depends on what you mean by power dvd not being as good as the cards player. Was there more features on the cards player? quality difference?

You might try looking around at things like WinDVD, Xing DVD, if the cards player is not XP compatible at all and the company has no plans on making it so you might have to settle for 2nd best
=o( sorry man

I did a quick search and found that the new version (4.0) does work with XP. that is if its the same one, cause its called CinePlayer, although other sites say CineMaster, both by Ravisent.

I don't know if its just a name change or what

Don't know much about hardware decoders and I use PowerDVD but...

Try these... Win2k drivers will sometimes get you out af a bind...

You guy's are amazing!

Thanks: Qumahlin (It is the quality).

Thanks: Khayman (I was only looking on 'Dell's site for updates)

Thanks: MiseryQ, you've come up with the 'goods'!!! :D

just installed the win2k driver/player.....superb!

What a community, Thanks again

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
