Hi all,

I am testing Windows7 at one of my clients offices, for my client.

We are using beta7048.

I am wondering how to change the path of the documents folder?

I right click, select properties, and doesn't look like to old properties from previous versions.

It is also complaining that the shared drives needs to indexed???????

The three main file servers are all linux servers and the XP machines in the domain have no issues with redirecting the documents folder to the shared drives.

Thanks

Heeter

It doesn't get much easier...
right click
'properties'
'Include a folder'
Choose the folder you want
'Set save location'
'Remove' the old location

It is complaining that the shared drives needs to indexed.

I mentioned this in my first post.

Thanks,

Heeter

Thank you very much for the link.

And, I do not suck at posting questions.

I try my best to post all the possible information about my situation so that anyone who can help me, will know right off the bat with what I am having trouble with.

No one else seems to take issue with the way I post here. In fact, anyone and everyone who helps me here usually does so in the first or second response, to my initial thread starter.

is this thread an appropriate place for a "learn to read" statement? :p

Or should it be "read post in entirity before posting assinine comments"?

Not really, lord. I just don't like the "I think I know more than you attitude" that comes from some people ...

I read the whole post, and comprehended it. It's just not written very well.

read it. It comes across as "It looks different and I couldn't figure it out"

The question (Which I answered in my first post) was:
I am wondering how to change the path of the documents folder?

Then, almost as an aside and appearing fairly unrelated to the question is:
It is also complaining that the shared drives needs to indexed???????

All told, I wasn't in the mindset of translating client's questions into what they really want... I deal with that all day every day, and I (somewhat stupidly) expected more from someone who has several thousand posts on a technical forum.

Johnny, I don't think i know more you.. I know I know more than you. :p

*runs away*

edit: sorry, i couldn't resist being a troll..

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
