I use drive image as well.. it has saved my bacon numerous times... on the same note you can get a true recovery CD from the mfg.. what brand and model is it?
Robbie San - are you sure about getting a "true recovery" CD from the mfg???
It seems like I read and have been told on this site that the CD we can buy from HP (since our HP's have a "hidden section on the hard drive that contains the info) - doe snothing more than contain XP Home!
The Recovery CD everyone talks about here is supposedly different fromt he one we'll get from HP!
What I mean is a recovery CD that would come with the machine.. Compaq and HP for instance usually bundle a 'recovery cd' with their machines.. the cd is the original load image.. I know that tehse days they are cutting costs by putting the image on a separate partition and then making consumers pay extra to order a recovery cd..
the main reason I asked this question is that HP for instance has a recovery set for a particular series of Pavilion 54xx series.. that sort of thing.. if the guys has a clone machine then the standard Windows install plus manually updated drivers where required is fine.. for the easiest load it's best to use the mfg supplied cd where possible..
Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
