i just upgraded ram to 4 gigs Mushkin Redline ..well did a while back ..and went to look to see if it showed 4 gigs ..and it shows the processor being AMD FX60 and then 2.75 gigs of ram. What gives here? Is there something i need to change somewhere?

the processor showing is correct ..but shouldn't it show 4 gigs ram or to be exact ... 4096mb

If you are using a 32-bit OS it wont show all 4 gigs. You need to use a 64-bit OS on a 64 bit CPU to make use of all 4 gigs. 32-bit can not address that much RAM.

Yep thats exactly right , you would need to go 64bit OS but I say DONT DO IT !!

Support for 64bit still sucks afaiac!

i see ... so in turn ... 2.75 is max for 32bit i am presuming

It can handle 3 gb I had that and it was fine but there was no real gain from 2 - 3 , in 32bit

In 64Bit it was fine and I liked how 64bit ran problem was driver support it is lacking for 64bit and it has not gotten much better in Vista 64.. I would still stay away from 64bit for now.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
