Reboot problem when exiting from ANY 3d game???

I hope someone can shed some light on this problem.
90% of the time whenever I exit from a game, specifically a 3D one(wolfenstein, Empire earth, BAttle realms), XP gives me a very brief glimpse of the desktop then promptly reboots(the games themselves run perfectly well). Any other application or game that I run works flawlessly, aslong as it is not fully 3d.
I have tried to run these games in various compatitility modes ie 95 & 98 with no change in the problem.
I also unticked the box under Control Panel>>system>>advanced>>startup and recovery settings to prevent the reboot. This resulted in the BSOD with the following error..
"A problem has been detected and windows shut down to prevent any damage to your computer.
blah blah blah
Technical info

My system... AthlonXP1500, Epox 8KHA+, 256mb Corsair XMS2400 DDR RAM, Gainward GS GF2MX.
I have tried detonators 21.83, and currently running 23.11,same thing happens under each version.

any help appreciated!!
IRQ_NOT_LESS etc. Is a sadly a common error:( Mostly cause of bad drivers (check for updates).
Search trough the forum, and see what others have been suggested. There are plenty of ppl with this problem!
