i know realtek drivers had an issue properly rendering eax effects in the past. has anyone tried them recently? i'm using an audigy that i would like to do without as long as i can still hear if something is in front of me versus behind me when using headphones with my onboard realtek hd audio.

realtek can't do EAX :) It gets the effects and positioning all wrong.

I have the driver, but when I play movies on my laptop, the audio is really low and hard to hear. I have made sure that I have the latest drivers and every audio setting is set to max, but still no joy. I don't havethis problem with anything else. Is there a audio boost setting or some software tht will boost it?

what do you use for movie playback? Some have a boost option in the audio filters.

and what codec do u use to decompress the movies?.. some like ac3 filter are known to be really quiet on playback

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
