which format do you like and which one do you use. which one do you like more. *.zip format VS. *.rar format?

.rar
I seem to get better compresion from rar most of the time.

Rar has a better compression scheme.

I dont use .zip compression unless I am sending a file to someone who does not use WinRar.

Even then, I advise them to get WinRar.

ZIP all the way. Why? Because everyone uses it. Well nearly. When downloaded I unzip the file & delete the zip anyway.

Well; windows XP has easy open features for ZIP

I think RAR has better compression; and I find it cooler for some reason; why I don't know.

Probably was because I had to deal with Winzip for such a long time :p

Rar,

It would be an obvious choice due to the compression factor, and it opens winzip as well, when needed.

i love rar, so thats why i asked. zip has been around longer, and thats why it is currently a standard (correct?)

I think rar is becoming more of a standard now-days than zip is.
People realise that its better compresion (and admitedly, a funkier app :p ) works to their advantage.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
