random Blue Screen

Hi, My machine has recently gotten into the habit of BSODing on me

It gives me a Driver irql not less or equal error.
I haven't installed anything recently apart from the latest xp updates

The actual stop number would help, but driver IRQ not less or equal errors are generaly caused by bad drivers

I'll try to note down the numbers the next time it happens, which should be in about 5 minutes or so

Test your memory also. It could be bad.

It looks like portcls.sys may have something to do audio drivers. Try unistalling and reinstalling you sound card drivers.

I have the SB live 5.1
So I uninstalled it today and no problems at all.
But I can't keep on going without sound, would this problem reoccur if I installed the SB live drivers you think?

Check to make sure you have the latest drivers, if you do and they are causing the problem try finding older drivers.
