Ram Free Up

Can anyone recommend a good program that will free up ram for Xp Pro.

Thanks.

Ram utilities are virtually useless - in fact, counterproductive - in XP. The OS does a better job of managing memory on its own than any available 3rd party utilities.

disable unnecessary services

frees up a lil ram i think:)

Cacheman 5.5 is good, it will allow you to increase the icon cache, read-ahead cache for the harddrive, and also has a hot key or tray icon that instantly frees up memory by clearing unused dlls left in memory.

Its downloadable from utilities on xp-erience mainpage. :D

the best ram free up program you can possibly use in xp is xp...do not take away xp's ability to manage ram...as allan said, that's counter productive

From what I have seen and read, dealer and allan are right. XP does a better job of handling memory for itself.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
